You’re rich. Stop complaining.
One of my young leaders, Marc with a C gave us a bit of a reality check last Friday.
He asked us these questions.
Ever looked in your fridge and been like “theirs nothing to eat?” (Maybe it’s last nights leftovers but I’m sure there’s its’ not empty right)
Or girls, have you ever said “oh my goddness i have nothing to wear?” (when really you’re bedroom floor is covered in clothes.
Do you have a place to sleep tonight? Is it warm? Is it safe?
We all answered YES.
Well did you know statistics say if you have food in your fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep. You are richer than 75% of the world. That’s 5 billion two hundred and fifty million people!!
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet or even a few dollars under your couch you are among the top 8% of the worlds wealthy.
WOW TOP 8%. I am rich. I really need to stop complaining.
The fact that you have a computer or an iphone in your hand means you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who can’t read anything at all.
Breathing the air in Mumbai, India for just ONE DAY, is equivalent to smoking 2.5 packs of cigareettes. About 20 people die every minute from starvation. Every minute. Selah pause and think.
Just the fact you’re breathing right now means you’ve got it good! I’ve got it good!
So often we look to what we DONT have, when really if we all just took a step back and had a look at what we do have. We see how blessed we are!
Thanks Marc. Something we all needed to hear.
